5 Things I Want To Help My Audience With

I know there are so many people, both local and from further afield, that want to explore the UK. For those visiting from abroad, there can be so many questions about visiting a foreign country. For those wanting to take a staycation, you might not even be sure what there is to do in your home country. I want to help my audience have the best possible time travelling in the UK. I know that there are so many amazing places to visit and things to do here, and I want you to get as much joy out of it as I have. So, here are the top 5 things I want to help my audience with.

1. Help you think outside the box to choose the best destination to suit you.

Lulworth Cove

Most people who come to visit the UK want to head to London – and that is completely understandable, it is one of the greatest and most culturally rich cities in the entire world! But I know there are so many other wonderful and underrated spots in the UK that you may not have heard about and may suit you even better than England’s bustling capital. Even in London, there is so much more to discover than what we are often first faced with.

If what you want is to see the sights and tick the boxes then, never fear, I’ll make sure to cover that too. But if you want to see what else the UK has to offer, then I’m here to help. As a native Englishwoman who has been exploring different locations throughout the UK since I was 4 years old, I consider myself somewhat of an expert on the topic. So, whether you want quaint English countryside, bustling urban hubs, the best of arts and culture, or famous literary locations then I’ll help you find the perfect spots just for you.

2. Help those coming from abroad to immerse themselves in British culture.

Afternoon Tea

One of the most daunting things about visiting a foreign country is being unsure of how it all works, and what is considered the expected way to behave. We all have an idea in our head of Brit’s being polite, queueing, and drinking lots of tea – and that is certainly part of it. There is so much more to it than that, and so much more nuance than you can imagine. Not to mention, the culture can vary enormously from place to place. The UK is made up of four different countries – England, Wales, Scotland and Northern Ireland – and each has their own distinct and rich culture and history. Not only this, but culture can vary massively depending on whether you’re in the city or countryside, or whether you’re in the north or south. I’m here to give you a true insight into the amazing and realistic cultures the UK has to offer so you can fit right in wherever you visit.

3. Help fellow Brits discover the wonderful places to visit on their own doorstep.

Over the pandemic, many were forced to take a staycation rather than travelling abroad, and it struck me how many people felt stuck as to where to visit. With the cost of living rising and the effects of Brexit affecting ease of travel, more and more people are now being forced to consider spending their summer here. But I prefer to think of this as an opportunity to discover the amazing things that may be only an hours drive away from your doorstep. If you think you have to get on a plane to see beautiful beaches, impressive landscapes, or ancient historical sights, then think again. The UK has so many beautiful and interesting places to explore and I think it’s high time we started celebrating them. Let me help you to love the place you live.

4. Help you to save money as you travel.

The UK, and England in particular, have a reputation of being lands of luxury and high society. While this is part of the draw of visiting the UK, this doesn’t mean that you have to break the bank to have a great visit here. One of the wonderful things about the UK is that the majority of its art galleries and museums are completely free. Not to mention its wonderful walks, beaches, and countryside spots that cost nothing to visit. As someone who grew up without much money to spend, I have collected an enormous variety of money-saving tips. From finding cheaper places to visit, tricks to get cheap tickets, and insider knowledge of free things to, I’m here to share all of this with you too!

5. Help to reduce travel anxiety for those who struggle.

Part of the reason I started travelling in the UK so much is because I began to suffer with a variety of anxiety disorders. I found it hard to travel on planes, to be too far away from home, to take public transport, to be in crowded places, to eat certain foods. As you can imagine, for someone who has always loved to travel, this was basically an absolute nightmare. I managed to compromise by sticking to travel in the UK and pushing myself out of my comfort zone and, as I did, I fell in love with travel in the UK. Nowadays, I don’t holiday here because it is my only option but because I find absolute joy in it. I am also doing far better now, thank goodness, but I remember the pain of feeling so scared and restricted perfectly well. That’s why I want to help those who suffer with anxiety to find travel options that work for them. For my fellow Brits who feel unable to travel abroad, to those who struggle in public places, there is no reason why you can’t have the holiday of your dreams too. I’m here to help you find it, and develop skills to cope while you’re there.
