1. Emma Kate Hall

Emma’s blog is absolutely lovely. She writes about various locations, but she has an enormous section focused on the UK. As someone born and raised here, just like me, she has an insiders knowledge of some of the best things to do in the UK. She has a really great selection of bucket lists you can use to plan your trips, as well as unique recommendations for places to visit and things to do. One of my favourite things about her blog are her food posts. She posts UK location-based recommendations on where to eat, including posts on pubs, ice cream and brunch. Alongside her great recommendations for UK and International travel, she also writes content on lifestyle topics such as health and productivity.

2. Third Eye Traveller

Another native Brit, Sophie from Third Eye Traveller writes great advice about solo female travel. She has visited various places from all over the world and writes content about all of them. However, her posts about the UK are particularly special to me. She writes really specific articles, sometimes singling out specific waterfalls or viewing points to visit! She writes especially good posts about historical sites in the UK, as well as posts about filming locations for various TV shows. As a BBC Merlin fan myself, I adore her post on Speech House Lake – which you can read here. If you want to feel inspired and confident while travelling in the UK, as well as discover some really unique locations, then this is the blog for you.

3. Books And Quills

Sanne is a Dutch blogger who is now based in London. She writes about travel, mostly in the UK, as well as books – as the name may suggest. It’s really nice to get the perspective of someone who has grown up in another country and has now made a home for herself here. It’s lovely to hear about the things she loves about the UK. She has some particularly great insider posts about London, so if that’s where you’re heading then definitely check out her blog. She also writes posts about sustainable travel and literary travel which, as a book lover, suits me down to the ground. If you’re a book-loving traveller you definitely need to check out Sanne’s blog. You can plan a trip and decide which book to take with you all in one place!

4. Girl Gone London

Girl Gone London writes about travel in the UK and in Europe. This is a great option for those visiting from abroad, especially Americans, as Kalyn is an American expat living in London. This means she has a special insight into what it can be like to arrive in the UK as an outsider, what’s different about it, and what you can do to better understand the cultures here. If you really love her blog she offers resources such as itineraries and courses directly related to UK travel, so you can take your experience to the next level. If you want honest reviews of popular destinations, as well as tips and tricks to help you fit into the British culture, then this blog is the one to head to.

5. Novel Wanderings

Yes, it’s another geeky one. Sorry, I just can’t resist. And with the UK’s wonderful literary locations, I can’t help but enjoy the creators who love them just as much as I do. Novel Wanderings is originally from Austria but has travelled the UK extensively, so has the valuable insight of someone coming from abroad. This blog has a variety of recommendations on what to do when you visit the UK, and many are based around locations linked to various authors or novels. I particularly love the posts about travel to locations linked to Jane Austen, as well as the review of afternoon tea at The Dorchester. The food recommendations are another particular highlight of this blog. So if you love food, books and UK travel, then this is the blog to head to!
